Hong Kong / Seul / Roma

It is the opening day. After months of research, the poster could not be installed in a public space, it is too dangerous given the political conditions in Hong Kong. Pik-kei finally chose a gallery, that works on themes of the body and sexuality, where she will insulted the work in the context of LOVE+: Awakenings exhibition curated by Kalen Lee.
Inside, there is another work called Red, created by the artist Nicole Poon, that is a photography series about a body in a daily living place. Kalen thinks putting these two works together could let the audiences have room to rethink about autonomy and queerness of the human body.

Franco is the new collaborator from West Kowloon who is following our project, and he gives us a lot of technical information by e-mail in the days before, as well as the set-up plan. Two ceiling track lights will be used to highlight the poster. Considering the humidity and temperature condition of this interior area, the curator suggests printing Pik Kei's work as a foamboard (size as 164cm (H) x 125cm (W)) to maintain its quality for this 10-day exhibition. Aside from it, the rest of the art works on 4/F are mostly video works with an individual headset for the audiences. Therefore, it will not be a noisy area as a whole.

Pik-kei's work is powerful, disturbing, violent, ironic. It is indoors, but we can imagine it resonating and reverberating in the streets of Hong Kong.
